Update on Closure- April 1st - 30th
Apr 01, 2020
Yesterday, Illinois Governor Pritzker issued an executive order mandating all Illinois schools to remain closed through April 30, 2020. I hope this extended closure will keep you and your family safe and healthy.
I know this closure has been a sudden and unexpected shift in the way children learn, but our teachers and staff are here to assist you during this difficult time. As we move forward together, we will continue to provide weekly engaging e-learning packets to support your child's academic growth. Although schools are closed, teachers are available each day to support you. In addition, each school has a special email address for you to send e-learning questions. You can find the email addresses at https://www.joliet86.org/students-parents/e-learning-contact-information/.
Plans are currently in place to distribute Chromebooks to District 86 students in grades 8 and 2 thru 5. We are working diligently to access the devices and prepare them for students. We will keep you updated on details as soon as they are available for distribution.
Our Grab and Go meals will continue during this extended school closure. Please check our website at https://www.joliet86.org for details regarding this effort. We will also post information on the district Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Please continue to use our "Let's Talk" communication tool on the website to ask questions or leave comments. Together, we will work to make the best of this challenging situation.
