September Reminder

Sep 06, 2024

The 2024-2025 school year is off to a great start.  Thank you to all the families that attended our Open Houses.  The turnout was terrific.

I'm thrilled to report that our bus routes are fully staffed with drivers for the first time since the pandemic!  Thank you for your patience with bus pick-up and arrival times as drivers and families get familiar with the routes, and bus drivers deal with the on-going construction in town.

If your student rides a First Student Bus, consider downloading the FirstView mobile app to receive transportation information in real time.  Enter our District code, PZSG, and your child's route information from their bus pass.  Your child's bus pass is uploaded in the Aspen Family Portal.  To see the bus pass, click on your child's name in the portal, click on the "documents" tab, and then click on the "documents detail" tab.

FirstView allows families to view information about individual bus routes, any possible delays, and estimated times of arrival.  If you have difficulty setting up your profile, please contact the FirstView Customer Service Department at (888) 889-8920 between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. or click on the "help" tab in the app.

If you drive or pick up your child at school, please obey the speed limits in the school zones (20 mph) and all District parking lots (10 mph).  Our number one priority is to keep our students and staff safe.

September is National Student Attendance Awareness Month.  Students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance.  A missed school day is a lost opportunity for students to learn.  Encourage healthy attendance habits for your children at a young age for a lifetime of greater success.

Don't forget to turn in your child's physical exam and/or required immunization records to your child's school nurse.  A Physical Examination and required immunization records are required for all Pre-K, Kindergarten, 6th grade, and new transfer students from out of state.  Forms must be turned into the school office by October 15, 2024.  Students will be excluded from school beginning October 16th if we do not receive the required information.  Appointment dates past the October 15th deadline are no longer accepted by the State of Illinois.  If you have any questions, please contact your child's school nurse.

Remember, if you have any question, comment, concern, or compliment about one of our schools or the District, send us a Let'sTalk message by visiting our District website or click on the Let's Talk logo here.
