Partnership: Little Free Libraries

I would like to introduce you to a partnership we have with the Joliet Public Library District. You may have noticed the Little Free Libraries that have appeared in multiple places across the city. Catherine Adamowski, Deputy Director of the Joliet Public Library District, came to us with an idea to place Little Free Libraries at some of our school sites (Washington Junior High, Sanchez Elementary, Forest Park I.E., Gompers Junior High, Marshall Elementary, and Culbertson Elementary). These Little Free Libraries are a great way for families to access books.
This partnership is a great example of how we are working with another agency in Joliet to help meet our goals related to literacy and academic achievement. Please visit one of the Little Free Libraries to see for yourself how they operate.
