Communication is key!
Sep 21, 2018
Communication is the imparting or exchanging of information or news. It is also a means of connection between people or places. I was honored to be able to present an update about the district to the Joliet City Council this past Tuesday evening. The presentation not only provided a time to update the city council members on the major work of the district, but also the community-at-large. The entirety of the city council meeting is available on public television which allows the message from the presentation to be heard by the entire community.
We are also extremely fortunate in our district to have highly qualified staff managing our ongoing communication efforts. This past week members from our staff were honored by the Illinois Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association (INSPRA) for the amazing work they do. Pictured below are Maria Rivero Airas, District Translator; Sandy Zalewski, Director for Communications and Development; and John Armstrong, Director of Technology and Information Services. This amazing team won two awards -- an Award of Excellence for the Joliet Public Schools District 86 At a Glance Flyer and an Award of Merit for the District 86 website (www.joliet86.org).
We are very proud of this team who work with the entire district to ensure our communications both impart or exchange information as well as connect us to all of our families and the community-at-large.
