100th Day of School

Can you believe we just completed our 100th day of this school year? Thank you to our elementary students who remind us of this special day every year! It is always fun to see the excitement in our youngest students' eyes when they are counting by ones and get to 100. One teacher told me the 100th Day of School rivals Halloween as the "best day" for her students!
This school year is going by so fast. For those parents who have eighth grade students, Eighth Grade Graduations will be on Thursday, May 23rd. Dirksen, Gompers, Hufford, and Washington will host two ceremonies on that day (10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.) and Thompson's graduation celebration will be at 11:30 a.m. Principals will be sending out more information to families soon.

February 10, Junior High STEM Extravaganza at Dirksen Junior High
March 5, Parent/Teacher Conferences, no student attendance
March 18-21, Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) English Language Arts Assessment for all students in Grades 3 thru 8
March 25-April 1, Spring Break
April 8-12, IAR Math Assessment for all students in grades 3 thru 8
April 11, New Kindergarten Orientation at all Elementary Schools
April 27, Autism Walk at Joliet Junior College
May 17, Fine Arts Art Show at Singleton Elementary and Gompers Junior High
May 23, Eighth Grade Graduations at All Junior High Schools and Thompson
May 24, Last Day of School (TBD)
June 10, Summer School Begins
It will be summer before we know it! Hopefully the sun will return soon. Please log into your family Portal to view your children's attendance, homework assignments, and grades. If you ever have a questions, please contact your child's teacher.
