GOMPERS COLLECTS $700 FOR THE AMERICAN RED CROSS

The students and staff collected money during lunch periods at the school.

GLEN MARCUM PLAYGROUND OPENS AT THOMAS JEFFERSON

Joliet Public Schools District 86 has partnered with the Joliet Park District and Joliet Park Foundation to replace the playgrounds at five District 86 schools. Jefferson is the third school to receive a new playground following new playgrounds at Marycrest Early Childhood Center and Farragut Elementary School. New playgrounds are also planned for Carl Sandburg and Taft Elementary Schools.

FOREST PARK, KEITH AND MARYCREST SCHOOLS RECEIVE AWARDS

Forest Park and Marycrest Schools each received the Gold Circle of Quality Award and Keith School received the Silver Circle of Quality award. The principals and staff members were presented with plaques for their achievements by Joliet Public Schools District 86 Superintendent Dr. Theresa Rouse and the Board of School Inspectors at their school board meeting on October 4, 2017.

FINAL STUDENT REGISTRATION UNDERWAY

Completed registration forms and proof of resident forms for any District 86 student may be dropped off at the following schools: Dirksen Junior High, 203 S. Midland Avenue; Farragut Elementary, 701 Glenwood Avenue; Forest Park I.E. School, 1220 California Avenue; Gompers Junior High, 1501 Copperfield Avenue; Hufford Junior High, 1125 N. Larkin Avenue; Sator Sanchez Elementary, 1101 Harrison Avenue; and Washington Junior High, 402 Richards Street.
