Congratulations to Gompers Junior High students and staff for raising $1,600 for Pink Heals Joliet Area Chapter during their second annual Students vs. Faculty Basketball Fundraiser. The staff squeaked out a close win 30-26.
Students who played in the basketball game included: Antonio Bowers, Kavon Burnett, Grachell Carucho Valera, Leo Choncoa, Valentin Conejo, Cristhel Fajardo Crus, Camila Garcia, Timarean Garrett, Mariana Guzman, Willow Hardy, Caleb Lawler, Jesse Leon Hernandez, Eimy Revueltas Sanchez, Danna Tovar Pacheco, Candi Vargas, and Bryan Zermeno. Santa (aka sixth and seventh-grade science teacher Stephen Rummel-Chadderdon) and the Gompers Cheerleaders also participated in the event. The fundraiser was coordinated by Gompers eighth-grade social studies teacher Amy Johnson and special education paraprofessional Amy Wendell-Blish.
