Thank you to everyone that participated in the Joliet Public Schools District 86 ninth annual Autism Awareness 5K Run/Walk. Over 460 people supported the fundraiser held recently at Joliet Junior College.
Joliet Public Schools District 86 Superintendent Dr. Theresa Rouse, Assistant Superintendent of Equity & Student Services Dr. Sunni McNeal, and Director of Special Education Dr. Jennifer Smith congratulated the top three finishers at the event (center) Joe Sues, husband of Hufford Junior High teacher Amanda Sues, Woodland Elementary School Principal Ben Meinert, and Katherine Moreno, daughter of District 86 Hearing & Vision Screener Marina Moreno.
Over $6,300 was raised to benefit the student autism programs Marycrest Early Childhood Center, Sator Sanchez Elementary, and Hufford Junior High Schools.
